My Lucie Swatch

Lucieswatch1 I swatched for Lucie today!  The color is Amy's Cherry Chocolate, and the swatch is 4x4.  I blocked the swatch, and the picture here shows it while it's still wet, so the reds aren't quite that bright, but I do love the colors.  I started with size 6 needles, and my gauge was off, so I re-did it this morning on size 4 needles, and got much closer to the right gauge.  It's a little scary, knitting a full size sweater on size 4 needles.

Hi all

Just a quick post to say hello, and introduce myself to the group.  I'm Rachel, and I'm looking forward to this, my very first KAL!  The quick and dirty about me is on my blog (it's new, so it's a short read right now): Chipping Away

I ordered the yarn for this in Cherry Chocolate.  I'll post pics when I get a chance.  I haven't started the sweater yet, as I've got a few other pressing Christmas gifts on the needles, but it's next on the "to-do" list!  I can't wait to see other's progress on this sweater.

Hi

Thanks for adding me. I'm looking forward to starting this, but I'm having a difficult time finding a yarn substitute - Ariadne is, unfortunately, beyond the budget right now.

About to begin!

Thanks for letting me in. I'm eager to begin this Lucie KAL and hope to see a lot of pictures of completed sweaters!

Hello

Thanks for letting me join. I love love this pattern. I am using yarn from Stash... so it is nothing exciting but I have it and I am doing the STash along... so this works. I am casting on tonight/ today and will post with update.

Thanks for letting me join as I know I will get it done with the encouragement of others.

And then there were two..

Hi Helen! So there's two of us now! And you also bought the Ariadne yarn too? Mine came in the mail Monday, but I just opened the package tonight...

Look at that presentation! I'm impressed!

Oh, and the yarn! My precious yarn! And it looks just like the picture to me. How often does that happen internet shopping?

I caught a gleamer of the silk, so I had to wind a ball. At 12:50am..I know, madness...

000_0830 I cast on for a gauge swatch on US4's but the pattern says US6's...hmm..for 7sts/1"? I'll knit a few rows on the fours and see where that takes me. Oh, and what size are you knitting? I'm a 41" bust, but nervous about making the 40", hell, or even the 44" How much ease is it meant to have??

Okay, I'm going to sleep now. Right after this row...

Welcome!! This will be a KAL for everyone who is in love with the Lucie design by Axelle de Sauveterre in the Fall 2006 Knitty.

This is the first KAL I've ever hosted, so please bear w/me. I promise to be diligent in checking my email, and keeping this blog as updated as possible. Hopefully you all will help me with that part. I use Typepad for my personal blog, so I don't now much about Blogger, again, bear with me in that regard too!

I've..um...what's that word...reconignitioned?? No...umm...well anyway, Donna SC from Knitty Coffeeshop has offered to make some button for this KAL. I have a new mac, and Photoshop, butu obviously not the skills to make buttons. All of my attempts were crap, so hopefully, we'll have a button or two soon. And if you want to create a button for all of us, please do, and email them to me, so we can all share.

Marthak_2 For my Lucie, I splurged. I placed an order w/Axelle for 4 skeins of her Ariadne yarn in Martha K. The appeal of Lucie includes using the yarn, so I plan to relish in this knit, and really enjoy the experience. Can't wait till the real thing arrives in the mail..
